ABOUT OCEAN ASSISTANCE
Working with many great companies, events organising teams, teams, and race organisations in the international water sports industry, I assist clients with project management, event management, sustainability projects, communications and logistics on projects worldwide.
From my office in the Netherlands, I can assist you with the organisation of your company event or project and implement sustainability measures where needed. You can get my assistance looking after your online organisation, or communications. When your company is involved with a larger sports event and you would like your sponsorship activation activities organised, I can arrange this for you.
Working with many industry connections, I enjoy looking after the details of any project and can assist you with finding the right connections within the international water sports industry.
Starting Ocean Assistance Ltd came as a natural evolution after working at sea in the international maritime industry for over ten years. I worked onboard various sailing yachts for years and was then given the opportunity to assist in organising large sailing yacht programs in many different cruising areas around the globe.
I combined that work experience with gaining knowledge of organising water sports industry events and running large-scale race team logistics for super yachts and teams in worldwide races as The (Volvo) Ocean Race. This has led me to an ability to assist businesses, events, yachts and race teams with project management, sponsorship activations, online communications, sustainability projects, event organisation and logistics.
WORKING TOGETHER
Team JAJO – The Ocean Race
Team JAJO Participated in the Ocean Race 2022 and I provided assistance organising this participation for both the team and sponsors. Organising events, sustainability, logistics and assisting with communications.
Intellian Technologies
I was invited to organise the opening event for the new Rotterdam office and distribution centre. The event hosted 250 guests and included opening ceremony, food truck dinner service and evening party with live music.
Water Recreatie Nederland
I project managed various sustainability projects for this foundation that focusses on the sustainable development of water recreation in The Netherlands. Responsibilities included the development of a new website, communication activities and overall project management.
Manager Team JAJO
Marianne heeft tijdens The Ocean Race het TeamJAJO bijgestaan met de organisatie van onze deelname aan deze race in verschillende bestemmingen in Europa. Iedere stopover van deze race is een groot evenement en alle logistieke organisatie voor het complete team was de verantwoordelijkheid van Marianne. Zij heeft dit zowel op locatie als virtueel voor ons opgepakt met enthousiasme, toewijding en een positieve houding. Naast de logistieke organisatie van het team, heeft Marianne ook evenement organisatie opgepakt voor onze sponsor Batenburg Techniek. Ook hier heeft ze met enthousiasme, samenwerking en een oplossingsgerichte houding de organisatie opgepakt en succesvol uitgevoerd. The Ocean Race heeft een grote focus op het verduurzamen van de evenementen en dit werkt door in alle organisatie voor team en de lokale evenementen. Marianne heeft deze focus in al haar werkzaamheden getoond en uitgevoerd.
Batenburg Techniek
Batenburg Techniek sponsored Team Jajo during The Ocean Race and I was asked to assist Batenburg Techniek on a 6 month project to arrange largescale sponsorship activation activities during the stopovers in Aarhus, Scheveningen and Genova.
The Superyacht Cup
The Superyacht Cup takes place every year in Palma de Mallorca. I assist this regatta with securing sponsorship, running of the race office, all communications with yacht owners and crews, liaising with event director, social media and logistics managers.
J Class Yachts Association
I managed the online technical administration for the J Class association. Setting up and organising online documenting systems and communicating with various members about technical handicaps for racing. Partaking in meetings with technical director, owner representatives and industry professionals.
The Superyacht Cup Event Director
Marianne has been a valuable member of the Superyacht Cup Team for several years. She has a very professional approach, excellent organizational skills and works well under pressure. Marianne works with great enthusiasm and energy and her willingness to find optimal solutions is a great asset in the often unpredictable world of event management. I provide project management and logistics services to various super yachts. Ranging from project managing regatta participation or assisting with world wide cruising programs and project management for refit projects in the Netherlands
Team Brunel – The Ocean Race
Team Brunel participated in the 2017/2018 edition of the Volvo Ocean Race. I was the team’s Logistics Manager and organised all crew arrangements for the team for the duration of this world wide gruelling sailing race. All visa requirements, accommodation requirements and travel requirements were arranged for the team in all 11 stopover locations throughout the world.
Americas Cup SY Regattas
The Americas Cup taking Place in Bermuda in 2017 offered a beautiful background for this amazing Superyacht Regatta. Three days of racing with 20 boats entered and all crewed
by professional race teams. As part of the Boat International Media Event Team for this event, I was responsible for managing the Race Office.
Marketing Manager Intellian Technologies
I already had the pleasure of working alongside Marianne at a few super yacht events so when I needed help with managing a customer event she was the first person I contacted. Marianne is super organised, conscientious in her work and has great communication skills to manage your expectations. I could trust her to take on the brief and create a truly fabulous event. Americas Cup J Class Regatta
Seven majestic J Class Yachts raced in Bermuda during the official Americas Cup J Class Regatta. I was responsible for managing the race office and assisted the Class Secretary with organising all onshore events, off and on water communications and organising the J Class races.
The SuperYacht Awards
Boat International Media host the prestigious SuperYacht Awards in different locations every year.
My during the World Super Yacht Awards in the Netherlands included project management, communications with local contacts in native language, assisting with all logistics and guest contact.
Pink Gin VI
The Pink Gin program was an international prestigious cruising and racing program around the Baltic 175 Pink Gin VI. For this program I provided team management, refit management, regatta logistics, local agent services
